Pepperwood Grove Old Vine Zinfandel 2008

California produces on average very light and juicy wines perfect for summer. With Summer drawing to a close I wanted to feature at least one more of my summer wine picks.  This wine is light  and slightly oaky and reminded me of a French Beaujolais. A great choice for a picnic or patio sipper. It would pair well with lighter food such as salads, fruits or light summer pastas maybe something lemony. This wine retails here for $16.99.

NSLC Tasting Notes:This big, mouth-filling Old Vine Zin with a bouquet of blackberry, fresh figs, currants, and cloves and full-bodied flavour of dried dark fruit and spice finishes with lots of rich French oak.

Pairings: PASTA
